Volunteer at Geisinger
volunteer
Volunteer Laura Reinmiller provides information to patients and visitors at Geisinger Medical Center.

Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, and Geisinger Wyoming Valley  and Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre in Wilkes-Barre, offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for both adults and teens. Volunteering is a chance to learn new skills, develop new interests, make new friends and enjoy enriching experiences with a variety of people.

Volunteers generously share their time and special talents throughout the medical centers, providing help at the information desks, gift shops, surgical waiting areas, nursing departments, support services departments and pastoral care. During the past year, more than 650 volunteers donated approximately 120,000 hours of their time.

The Geisinger Medical Center Auxiliary, Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre auxiliaries also offer volunteer opportunities.

Junior Volunteer Program (GMC & GWV only)

The junior volunteer program, for teenagers between 14 and 18 years of age, provides a way for mature young people to experience the satisfaction of helping those in need. In addition, it offers an introduction to the many jobs that are available in a modern medical center. Teenagers interested in volunteer service must be able to work a regular assignment at least once a week during the summer, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
