Geisinger - Community Medical Center Auxiliary
Proud to continue the vision of our fifteen original founders to provide quality healthcare in Scranton
Over the years the Auxiliary at Geisinger- Community Medical Center (G-CMC) has taken on many different forms, but what has not changed is its desire to support the Medical Center in any way possible.
“It’s amazing when you look at our history and realize that fifteen women laid the groundwork back in 1897 to create the hospital we have today. It is our privilege to carry on their original mission. ” said G-CMC Auxiliary President Ann Lewis.
The members of the Auxiliary at G- CMC not only volunteer at the hospital, they consistently come up with new ideas and events to help fund hospital projects and programs. The Auxiliary’s two largest events are the Annual Basket Raffle and Visions, Verses and Voices, both of which have been in existence for over fifteen years.
The Auxiliary tries to touch as many hospital departments as possible with their annual donation in order to enhance the patient’s experience and care regardless of what part of the hospital they visit.
Now with the recent merger with Geisinger, the G-CMC Auxiliary looks forward to exchanging ideas and information with other Auxiliaries throughout the Geisinger Health System.
“Being part of an Auxiliary is about being part of something bigger. It’s about joining a group of dedicated individuals that share the same mission to not only make our hospital better, but make the whole community better as a result. “
