Event raises more than $34,000 for kids

The ninth-annual 94KX Cares for Kids radiothon hit the airwaves July 31 through Aug. 2, raising $34,428 for Janet Weis Children's Hospital pediatric services.

The radiothon kicked off with a live broadcast from Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville and continued at the Susquehanna Valley Mall. A number of events were held at the mall in conjunction with the radiothon, including a basket bingo, the Princess and Pirate Party, and the popular Ashley’s Auction, which featured hundreds of items up for bids.

Ashley's Auction contributed more than $13,000 to the radiothon total.

Interviews with Children's Miracle Network Miracle Kids and caregivers were featured throughout the three-day event, and volunteers took pledges from 94KX listeners who called in to donate.

The radiothon has raised more than $300,000 since its inception.

Pledges still can be made online, or can be mailed in with our mail-in donation form.
