It doesn't take long to realize that Josiah Viera is unlike most kids his age.

As a youngster with Progeria -- one of only about 40 such kids in the world -- he looks different, sounds different, and has spent more time inside a hospital than most people will in a lifetime.

But watch him on a baseball field, and you immediately know that he's got a lot in common with those other 6-year-olds.

Josiah loves to play the game.  Loves the atmosphere.  Loves to be a kid.

Both his family and our Janet Weis Children's Hospital caregivers are devoted to giving him every chance possible to be that kid.
