Dr Myers accepts his award

Children's Miracle Network, an international non-profit organization that raises funds for children’s hospitals, recently honored Dr. Scott Myers with a Children’s Miracle Achievement Award. Dr. Myers, neurodevelopmental pediatrician at Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, accepted the award March 20 at the Children’s Miracle Awards presented by Delta Air Lines at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Dr. Myers was one of four caregivers nationally recognized for their lifetime of service at a Children's Miracle Network hospital. He has devoted much of his career to studying and treating Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and was honored as an expert in this evolving field. He has published significant findings in the study of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), which have influenced textbooks and academy guidelines, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ASD.

“With 170 children’s hospitals in the Children's Miracle Network family, we have the great privilege of getting to know exceptional caregivers across every facet of pediatric medicine,” said Scott Burt, president and CEO, Children's Miracle Network. “Dr. Myers’ work has not only impacted the lives of children in his community, but millions of children treated at Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the country.”

Golf legend Arnold Palmer was also honored during the evening with the Legacy Award for his work on behalf of children’s healthcare. The awards ceremony featured performances by country music star Collin Raye, pop star Jon McLaughlin, and star of the Nickelodeon smash hit Spectacular, Simon Curtis.
