Wal-Mart shopping spree benefits pediatric services

Wal-Mart recently recognized stores across the country for their fundraising efforts on behalf of Children’s Miracle Network.

Being one of the top contributors for the region, the Wilkes-Barre Wal-Mart store was honored, and Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger received a $1,000 “shopping spree” for the children’s hospital as well as pediatric services at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Community leaders and Wal-Mart associates helped celebrate the store’s success as Miracle Kid Sarah Godfrey and Child Life Specialist Ashley Kane chose items that would benefit the hospitals.
