Clinical Trials and Research

When you receive cancer treatment at Geisinger Cancer Institute, you can expect access to some of the latest innovations in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Through our alliance with the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP), and our selection as an NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP) hospital, we offer access to over 100 valuable clinical trials for a variety of cancers - right here at home.

Clinical trials are research studies that are designed to find better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Depending on the type and stage of your cancer, your doctor may offer you a clinical trial as a treatment option. The trial may involve a new treatment or drug. We also participate in prevention trials for people at risk for certain types of cancer.
