Simons Variation in Individuals Project

Sponsored by the New York-based Simons Foundation, the Simons Variation in Individuals Project (SVIP) strives to identify and study a large number of individuals with single gene mutations and copy number variations that are often found in people with autism, autistic features and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Geisinger leads the online recruitment and evaluation of participants in the project.

SVIP has collected detailed clinical information and blood samples from more than 500 individuals and their families, using the data to determine the various medical, cognitive and behavioral issues shared by this group.
