Frederick & Mary Jones
Couple preserves Geisinger's legacy
Frederick Jones Jr., MD, and his wife, Mary, support Geisinger because of its exceptional legacy: an enduring commitment to Pennsylvania and its communities, a clear patient-centric focus and a fierce determination to remain on the cutting-edge of medical research and innovation.
Dr. and Mrs. Jones created a charitable gift annuity in support of the Chairman of Medicine Fund. The annuity allows them to support the health system while providing them with added benefits of income and tax advantages. “We’re pleased to be able to provide something in return for Geisinger’s influence on our lives,” Dr. Jones says.
The Jones’ dedication to Geisinger began in 1965, when, after a nine-year stint in the Air Force Medical Corps, Dr. Jones and his family moved to a farm outside of Danville. As a physician, he appreciated the commitment to delivering care without turning anyone away, and to the institutional pride that carries through to all levels of the organization. “At Geisinger, I was able to advance my department,” reflects Dr. Jones. “I like Geisinger’s determination to stay at the forefront of the medical profession.”
