The Henry Cancer CenterCancer... the word alone is cause for alarm. Geisinger offers its patients new hope, bringing the latest advances in chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgical techniques to central and northeastern Pennsylvania.

Recognizing that cancer patients and their families prefer to receive care as close to home as possible, the Geisinger Cancer Institute has established three hubs of care: Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center’s Frank M. and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center in Wilkes-Barre, and Geisinger Medical Group – Scenery Park in State College.

Physicians trained at the nation’s top cancer institutions, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York City, the Mayo Clinic, Dartmouth and the National Institutes of Health, offer patients advanced diagnostic and treatment opportunities because of the strategic alliance between the Henry Cancer Center and the Fox Chase Cancer Center (the fourth largest independent cancer research institute in the nation).

Future plans include the addition of radiation oncology to Knapper Clinic in Danville making it a free-standing cancer treatment area and the expansion of the Henry Cancer Center in Wilkes-Barre.

We will improve the health of the communities we serve by focusing the integrated resources of Geisinger Health System on reducing the burden of cancer.

Our coordinated approach is characterized by superior quality patient care, emphasis on education for cancer prevention and early detection, and on research. Geisinger is dedicated to bringing sophisticated medical care close to home for those we serve.
