Geisinger Heart Institute facilities include the institute at Geisinger Medical Center, the Richard and Marion Pearsall heart Hospital and Geisinger Wyoming Valley, and heart services provided at Geisinger Medical Group- Scenery Park. Geisinger leads the nation with a level 1 Heart Attack Program that treats patients requiring a balloon inflated in their artery to remove a blockage. Geisinger’s program is nationally renowned for not only meeting the preferred national standard (90 minutes) for “door to balloon time,” but exceeds that standard by averaging 42 minutes for the procedure.
