The Geisinger Center for Health Research, opened March 22, 2007, is dedicated to addressing national health issues and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare in central and northeastern Pennsylvania through research. The Center serves as the focal point for bringing together multidisciplinary teams to discover, test, and validate new models of care delivery, and to rapidly translate research findings into real-time medical practice solutions. Health services as well as epidemiologic and population-genetics research studies focus on healthcare challenges such as obesity, autism, stroke, diabetes, and hypertension.
