LVAD Certification helps Heart Failure patients
Geisinger Wyoming Valley has become the first and only hospital in northeastern Pennsylvania (and one of only 15 statewide) to receive The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for left ventricular assist device (LVAD) technology. LVAD is a battery-operated device inserted into a patient's abdomen, which pulls blood from the left ventricle into a pump that distributes the blood to the rest of the body. This certification allows Geisinger Wyoming Valley to provide an even higher level of care for heart failure. Click to learn more.
