I love that they kept my family informed at all times. I was very happy with the treatment received in the hospital.

Drs. [Miroslawa] Nowak and [Carol] Ulloa were excellent! I am an RN – I understand how well the hospital functioned to care for me.

The nurses were simply superb.

The physician in the Emergency Room was very friendly, informative and thorough. The nurse on day shift, Charlotte, was outstanding. The nurse on nightshift was excellent and the nurse on the midnight shift was very good.

Sure, no one wants to go to the hospital. I was surprised I had to go. But GWV made my stay very comfortable. Thank you for the care you gave me.

My doctor was excellent…I was pleased with the courtesy and skill of your nursing department…On the whole, this hospital experience was the best I’ve had, including University of Pennsylvania.

After a long day…My sister-in-law and I made a comment we were hungry. The lady then gave us sandwiches and a soda. She was awesome. Please commend her…100% excellent hospital.

My night nurse following surgery, Claire, was phenomenal. She was great!

[They] treated us like family – always kind and courteous and sometimes emotional with us. We love your staff! Thank you for all you do to take care of everyone – patient and family alike … [The] nursing staff is exceptional – caring, attentive, skilled. We loved them all.

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre Ambulatory Surgery

Nurse Judy was great with our son. She was nice … spoke to him and made him feel important and welcomed.

[The nurse] was very nice. She told me everything I should do to get ready for my surgery.  Everything was neat and very clean.  Dr. [Barry] Bernstein was very nice. He explained what he would do and what I could expect after the surgery.  My family thought he was very nice to them and to me. I had a lot of confidence in the doctor. My surgery was very involved and he did a wonderful job. He is the best! You have a very good doctor and staff working at Geisinger South. Thank you!

I thank Dr. Lombard, Dr. [Matthew] Desciak, Larry my anesthetist; Maria, my OR nurse; Lois, my nurse who checked me in; and others I don’t remember. However, Beth in Recovery called me the following day and she was wonderful. I’m not sure how you can improve the system. I had many questions and concerns regarding the anesthesia and Drs. Lombard, Desciak and Larry were very professional as well as caring. Dr. [David] Kolessar was very professional as well as caring. I was completely at ease with him and thank him for the excellent surgical care and follow up. Please thank them all. I’ll probably have the same type of surgery next year and because of the experience I know I’ll not hesitate to use Geisinger’s Same Day unit. Thank you!

This is the best facility I’ve been to and best care I’ve received. I’ve been to off-site facilities, General Hospital … and this was a perfect experience.

The Surgery Center is beautiful. It appears well designed and its layout facilitates quality care.  Dr. [Melissa] Obmann is an excellent physician.  She speaks, acts and carries herself in such a way that encourages patient trust and confidence.  While inspiring confidence, she does not appear egotistical or cocky.  I am quite knowledgeable about medicine and am very selective about my physicians and the health care facilities I utilize. I am extremely pleased with my experience and could not be happier with Dr. Obmann. She and the Surgery Center exceeded my expectations.  The staff, especially Dr. Obmann, should be complemented.

Very polite, knowledgeable people. I love the board that lets family/friends know where you are. Dr. Obmann is fantastic. The anesthetist – Larry – was excellent. I could not be put out and he talked to me the whole time.

We really liked the computer screen that showed where the patient was in the surgery process … Everyone was friendly, helpful and seemed highly professional and experienced in their role. Overall, a very good surgery experience. Excellent in every area and phase of the process. So far, the best surgery experience for me.
