How the House Works

house of care geisinger danville paSince opening its doors in March 1984, the House of Care has grown to accommodate 40 guests in its 20 bedrooms, two kitchens, laundry room, and dining and social areas to provide the same amenities that you would find in your own home. Geisinger operates the facility through the House of Care committee with volunteers from Geisinger Medical Center and local community.  The resident manager oversees the operation of the House and volunteers assist with day-to-day activities.

We provide:

  • Clean linens and towels
  • Washer and dryer for your convenience
  • Community kitchens and dining room facilities with cabinet and refrigerator space for each guest
  • Shuttle service to and from Geisinger Medical Center
  • Computers for internet access
  • Free WiFi internet
  • Convenient check-in from 9 am - 9 pm

We ask that you:

  • Show consideration toward other guests at all times
  • Bring your own personal supplies, including liquid laundry detergent
  • Keep your room clean and remove soiled linens and place in laundry bin before check-out

Making Reservations is Easy

If you or a loved one needs lodging while undergoing treatment, ask a Geisinger doctor, nurse, social services representative, or chaplain to refer you to the House of Care. When the referral is received, a room will be reserved for you (if space permits) at the cost of $15 per night.  Rooms are designed for one or two guests, and we ask that all guests be 16 years or older.
