House of Care

The House of Care provides low-cost lodging for adult patients receiving cancer treatment at Geisinger Medical Center. The donation is $15 a night, but all visitors will be accommodated regardless of their ability to pay if space allows. Call (570) 271-8600 for availability.

Ronald McDonald House of Danville

The Ronald McDonald House is a privately owned non-profit corporation and is located on the Geisinger Medical Center campus next to the Knapper Clinic.

The Ronald McDonald House of Danville is a “home away from home” for families of hospitalized children, or those receiving extensive outpatient care for cancer and other illnesses in area hospitals. The House has 17 guest rooms and two efficiency apartments, accommodating up to 55 guests at one time. The efficiency apartments are designated for outpatient oncology patients and their families.

The House is a place of comfort and stability, offering families the opportunity to relax and be together during this stressful time. Families will find a warmly decorated home consisting of a common kitchen, dining room, living room, playroom and sunroom. The kitchen and the laundry room are equipped with essentials to meet your needs. In the backyard, a modern playground allows children and parents to enjoy the nice days outside.

Families are asked to pay a nominal fee of $15 per night’s stay.  These funds are used to offset House operation costs. No family is turned away for their inability to pay. Call (570) 271-6300 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. for availability.

Geisinger’s Concierge Services can also help with local accommodations. Many local motels and inns offer discounted rates for friends and families of Geisinger Medical Center patients.
