Inpatient rooms: Dial "9" for an outside line
To place an outbound telephone call from an inpatient room at GWV, dial "9" for an outside line, then dial the number. Local calls may be dialed with no charge to Wilkes-Barre and Scranton locations. For toll calls, as soon as the number is dialed, a Verizon recording will instruct callers on the proper way to place a collect call, credit card call or separate billing arrangement.
