How to Apply for Job with Geisinger Health System

Effective Oct. 18, 2010 Geisinger Health System has a new online tool to automate and simplify the job application process.

From a computer with internet access, access the web browser and go to Geisinger’s website: www.geisinger.org/careers. This will take you to Geisinger Career Space. Select the job category of positions you are interested in. This will take you to a list of job openings in the category you selected.

On the right hand is the complete list of job openings in the category you selected. Within the list of open jobs, you can search for jobs by: keyword, job ID, location or work type. Click on a specific job of interest (details of the job will be displayed). To apply for this job, click on “Apply:” you will be directed to the candidate login page.

If you do not have an existing Geisinger account, you will need to click on "New User" and complete an on-line profile when prompted. You will need a working email account to create your profile and to apply for jobs. If you do not have an email account you can establish one by clicking on the “Create One Here” link. You will be directed to set up a free email account at Google.

Make a note of your User ID (email address) and password to access your Geisinger Job Cart, Applications and Profile at a later date.

Once you establish an email account, you can complete your profile. You can attach your resume to the profile or enter your education, skills and competencies, previous employers, credentials, etc., directly to your profile. Once you have completed your profile, and are ready to apply for a job, click on “Apply”.  If you are not ready to apply for a job, click on “Done” and your profile will be saved for you to access later using your user ID (email address) and password.

After you apply for a posted job, you will receive an automatic email confirming that your application has been received.

Note: You will need to apply for each job individually. You can check the status of submitted job applications once you login to the Geisinger Career Space.
