The Geisinger Health System currently supports 25 osteopathic internship positions. We offer Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Traditional positions. The Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatric, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatric residencies at Geisinger maintain both AOA and ACGME accreditation for their programs. This offers the osteopathic trainee a great deal of flexibility. Many of our residency programs recruit candidates from our traditional internship. While there is an emphasis toward primary care, our traditional internship offers the trainee many future options. The traditional rotating osteopathic internship program at Geisinger Medical Center provides the clinical and academic experience necessary for each intern to develop the required competencies across the broad discipline of primary care. In addition to required rotations, sufficient elective time is available to accommodate individual intern's needs. OPP/OMM is incorporated into the curriculum using multiple modalities. Monthy Osteopathic Grand Rounds and Workshops are held. This includes both didactic and hands-on sessions. We also employ both on-line and multimedia learning tools in OPP/OMM. The Geisinger Health System has a rich history of education and research. We are located in the heart of the Keystone State. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package for our trainees. The Geisinger Health System is affiliated with MEDNet, the OPTI of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine |
