Physician Assistants Cardiothoratic and Vascular Surgery PA Student Opportunities The Physician Assistants in the CTVS department at Geisinger Medical Center are committed to providing an intensive, high quality educational experience for PA students who wish to do a clinical rotation in cardiac surgery. The student will participate in first and second assisting in the operating room, vein harvesting, radial artery harvesting, suturing, invasive procedures, pre-operative evaluations, history and physical examinations. During this rotation, the student will also spend at least one full week in the cardiac intensive care unit with a staff PA managing all aspects of the critically ill patient. This is a rotation for highly motivated students and carries with it a pre-requisite of having a general surgical rotation prior to this rotation. We have a very experienced staff of PA's; some with masters degrees, and others who have published various articles. Contact us Call the CTVS department at Geisinger Medical Center (570) 271-6367.
