Position Summary
This position is focused on the routine aspects of and administrative office supporting 36 clinic sites within the system.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
The position includes office flow, including but not limited to spreadsheets, scheduling, planning, writing, proofreading and project management, while providing excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Undergraduate junior or senior in Administrative Office Technology.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point. Willingness to learn additional software depending on project work. Focus on accuracy and customer service is required.
Special Requirements & Additional Information
Minimum GPA of 3.5 is required. Business dress is required. Professionally acceptable dress is required. The extern may consult with his or her supervisor to discuss what is acceptable to wear.

Position Summary
Undergraduate internship for students interested in marketing and/or management.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Careworks Convenient Healthcare has the need for a college intern to work on marketing and management projects, including, but not limited to the following: Sales: door hanger campaign, cold calling retail establishments, channel marketing development, ride along sales visits, new program promotions, MSO consultation project, customer service, develop a plan to improve service, develop a plan to improve patient wait time/throughput. Marketing: evaluate current marketing collateral, review marketing playbook, draft and pitch a story, community events/consumer, review marketing training. Management: assist with upstart of new operations/new service, clinic rounds, provider scheduling, assist with retreat preparation and coordination. Service line and website development: benchmarking research, draft copy – webpage insertion. Special projects: proposal for new waiting room design based on IDEO feedback.
The scope of the internship may vary based on needs of the organization.
Qualifications
Knowledge of: Computers/Microsoft Office, phone, fax, copier/scanner. Abilities: Written and verbal communication, work with others or individually on an assignment.

Candidate should be working towards a degree in related field for the position.

Position Summary
The extern will work in a community practice setting conducting medical assisting duties.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Tasks will include working alongside a nurse, collecting vitals, rooming patients, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The extern must be enrolled in a medical assisting program and be available to complete externship hours as part of her/his schooling.
Special Requirements & Additional Information
Minimum GPA of 2.5 required. In order to maximize the educational experience, up to five days of electronic medical record training at the Danville campus is highly recommended. Without such training, all externship hours will be observation-only, which is not considered to be in the best educational interest of the extern.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Tasks will include:

Qualifications

Position Summary
Working in the Automated Billing Applications and Quality Assurance department, under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, the extern performs duties in support of Revenue Cycle Operations.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Tasks will include:
-Designing and producing reports including all data elements for any relevant Revenue Cycle initiative, including, but not limited to, Patient Access, Billing, Collections, Coding and Revenue Capture, Revenue Enhancement, MyVisit, Patient Service Call Center, Corporate Imaging, Credentialing, Credit Balances, and Hospital and Professional Coding
-Providing data for Geisinger Health System customers in an accurate and timely manner
-Working cooperatively with other team members to assess reported field inclusion for data population reliability, consistency and completeness in response to specific data requests
-Assembling and managing recurring data reports as part of the production calendar
Qualifications
Students enrolled in an information technology, network administration or medical billing and coding program, who must complete externship hours as part of their program of study, may apply. The position requires knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Excel, Word, ACCESS and Power Point; organizational skills; and the ability to perform all functions in the assigned area of responsibility at a high accuracy rate with minimal supervision.

Position Summary
Working under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor, Revenue Cycle, the extern performs duties in support of Revenue Cycle Operations.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Tasks will include:
-Analyzing patient accounts in order to provide coordination and completion of patient concerns either in person, via telephone, or from written correspondence
-Collecting outstanding accounts receivable
-Corresponding directly with patients, insurance companies, physicians, attorneys, external business associates, employees, clinic sites and other facilities
-Providing timely and accurate follow-up on all appropriate inquiries
-Maintaining a close working relationship with Geisinger Health System (GHS) staff and affiliated companies to ensure clear communication and handling of all patient concerns
