ADMINISTRATIVE/RESEARCH INTERN: SPORTS MEDICINE

Position Summary
Internship for undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a degree in exercise science, health administration, public relations or business.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Supports the operation of GHS’s Sports Medicine program through participation in the planning, execution and analysis components of current and future program initiatives.  Supports overall objectives of Sports Medicine program under the direction of Program Manager and Research Coordinator.
Qualifications
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and work with others as a member of a team. Demonstrates the ability to work independent of constant supervision. Demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrates basic computer aptitude including Microsoft Word and Excel programs (Access program literacy beneficial).
Special Requirements & Additional Information
Must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate course of study in exercise science, health administration, public relations, health related field, life or social science, or business.  Scope of internship is flexible and can be adjusted according to student’s educational requirements.

Marketing/management intern: careworks convenient healthcare

Major Duties & Responsibilities
Careworks Convenient Healthcare has the need for a college intern to work on marketing and management projects, including, but not limited to the following: Sales: retail customer outreach, employer contract management, new program promotions;  Marketing: customer research, review of marketing plans and materials, assisting with preparing and implementing marketing campaigns; Management: assisting with launch of new operations/new service, clinic rounds, provider scheduling; and Special projects as assigned. The scope of the internship may vary based on the needs of the organization.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and e-mail.  Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately, and to complete tasks on time.

Candidate should be working towards a degree in marketing or management.

public relations/fundraising: children's miracle network

Position Summary
The purpose of the internship in the Children's Miracle Network at Geisinger office is to provide a valid experience in fundraising and community and public relations. The intern is under the direct supervision of a Children's Miracle Network Coordinator and interacts with the Children's Miracle Network Public Relations Specialist when working on related assignments.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
The internship will include, but will not be limited to, the following activities and responsibilities:
-Assisting with events and projects related to the Children's Miracle Network campaign
-Preparing and distributing select Children's Miracle Network press releases, flyers and other event materials
-Assisting and coordinating select community fundraising events (including annual Spell-a-thons, solicitation letters, presentations, etc.)
-Attending Children's Miracle Network and public relations staff meetings, as assigned
-Assisting with production needs for television and radio station events, as assigned
-Assisting in other projects, as assigned.
-Proposed work schedule: 10-15 hours/week
Qualifications
The internship requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a high level of energy, self-motivation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.  Computer skills are necessary (Microsoft Office).

Some local travel may be required. Please submit two writing samples (press releases, if possible.)

Research Intern: interventional pain clinic

Position Summary
This intern provides research assistance and support for special projects within the department.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
-Assist in writing a research proposal to measure outcomes for patients with chronic pain
-Assist with data collection and analysis
-Assist with publications
Qualifications
Preferred majors include psychology, nursing, biology/pre-med, and IT. Requires good communication and computer skills (including knowledge of PowerPoint), self-direction, knowledge of research methods and statistics. Knowledge of how to conduct research proposals and prepare publications is preferred
Special Requirements & Additional Information
Senior-level undergraduate students enrolled in a leadership class and/or interested in graduate school will be strongly considered. Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
