Summer Work Study Program

A variety of work-study internship opportunities are available at Geisinger Health System's Danville campus as part of the Degenstein Academic Scholars Program. This program provides excellent opportunities for local students with financial need to obtain valuable professional experience by working in Geisinger departments. Funding for the program comes from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) and the Degenstein Foundation.

General Guidelines
To be eligible for a work-study internship through the Summer Work Study program, students must meet the following criteria:
The student's permanent residence must be located in Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder or Union County; AND the student must be approved by PHEAA for work-study

How to Determine PHEAA Work-Study Eligibility
Approval for work-study must come from PHEAA itself. Details about work-study programs and guidelines are available at: PHEAA Work Study.

SWSP Student Application/Placement Form
If you are contacted for an interview, bring a copy of the SWSP Student Application/Placement Form. This form is a required part of the work-study application process. Please visit the PHEAA website for the form.
