Emergency Medicine The Emergency Department at Geisinger Wyoming Valley is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week and is staffed by emergency trained physicians. It features an 18-bed unit to care for major and minor injuries and illnesses. For less severe injuries, the Emergency Department features a dedicated Fast Track unit and staff to treat patients. They have different emotional needs and their physical development is unique. That’s why the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Services Unit at Geisinger Wyoming Valley was created through a child’s eyes. Children can relax in a private room with a television, video gaming equipment, a playroom, outside play deck, counter tops at their level and more.  The Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley is the only free standing hospital in the region dedicated to the health of heart patients. We provide a full spectrum of specialized care for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of cardiac abnormalities and inpatient and outpatient appointments. Labor & Delivery Geisinger Wyoming Valley was the first hospital in the Wilkes-Barre area to introduce LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post-Partum) suites in the early 1980s. A recent renovation of the suites provides laboring women and new moms to relax in a private room with soft colors and relaxing natural wood tones. Hospitalist Program Geisinger Wyoming Valley is the only hospital in the region to offer a Hospitalist Program. This unique program allows patients one-on-one time with a doctor specially trained in diseases and conditions most often suffered by hospitalized patients. Hospitalists are physicians that work with your primary care physician to monitor your progress and care for your specific needs during your hospital stay. Outpatient Rehabilitation Conveniently located just one mile from Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services offers patients ground level entry, close, convenient parking, private exam and treatment rooms, and a 2500 square foot exercise gym. We offer physical, occupational and speech therapy plus management programs for lymphedema, vertigo, injury prevention and more.
