The Emergency Department at Geisinger Wyoming Valley is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week and is staffed by emergency trained physicians. It features an 18-bed unit to care for major and minor injuries and illnesses. For less severe injuries, the Emergency Department features a dedicated Fast Track unit and staff to treat patients. That’s why the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Pediatric Services Unit at Geisinger Wyoming Valley was created through a child’s eyes.  The Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley is the only free standing hospital in the region dedicated to the health of heart patients. Geisinger Wyoming Valley was the first hospital in the Wilkes-Barre area to introduce LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Post-Partum) suites in the early 1980s. A recent renovation of the suites provides laboring women and new moms to relax in a private room with soft colors and relaxing natural wood tones. Hospitalist Program
Geisinger Wyoming Valley is the only hospital in the region to offer a Hospitalist Program. This unique program allows patients one-on-one time with a doctor specially trained in diseases and conditions most often suffered by hospitalized patients.
