A Rewarding Journey

On Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) designated Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) as a Magnet hospital. GMC is now an elite member of a group of only 18 Pennsylvania hospitals and fewer than 6% of hospitals in the United States who have achieved Magnet status.

The designation came seven months after submitting a 2,537-page document containing evidence of our commitment to the highest quality patient care and professional nursing performance. Magnet is proof of our commitment to excellence.
