Geisinger Receives Wharton School and Infosys Award DANVILLE - The Geisinger Health System has been named a finalist for the Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award for transforming the health care industry through the use of technology. The Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award is a joint initiative from Infosys, a global leader in consulting and information technology services, and the William and Phyllis Mack Center for Technological Innovation at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The awards, divided into three categories – Enterprise Business Transformation, Best Technology Initiative and Technology Change Leaders - were based on the level of innovation, thought leadership and transformational results represented by the entrants. Geisinger, chosen from more than 100 entrants worldwide, was evaluated on various factors that emphasized proactive leadership, predictive technology solutions and proven benefits to business. The finalist award was recently presented at a gala ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria, New York. Geisinger received an award as one of three finalists in its category. Other companies competing with Geisinger included: Anheuser-Busch, Canadian Imperial Bank, Eckerd Corporation, City of Houston, GreenPoint Mortgage, Lucent Technologies, MasterCard International, Nextel, Palm, Inc., PNC Bank, Pier 1 Imports and Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield.
