On Sunday, Oct. 18, from 3 - 7 pm, Geisinger hosted nationally recognized cancer survivor Kris Carr.

Kris Carr is an actress, best-selling author, filmmaker and subject of the uplifting documentary, Crazy Sexy Cancer. The film, which she wrote and directed, chronicles her four-year adventure of living and thriving with stage-four cancer.

It was broadcast on The Learning Channel (TLC) and Discovery Health in 2007. She has been broadcasted on many news shows and has had interviews with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Good Morning America, and Katie Couric. 

She has also had numerous engagements as an actress and writer, including spots in several Superbowl ads, originated roles for the playwright Arthur Miller, and has held two faculty positions at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. 

Participants had the opportunity to meet Kris Carr, a nationally-recognized, highly publicized cancer survivor and share in her extraordinary journey!
