Health Care Quality Unit hosts Nurses Training Day

On April 12, 2012 nearly thirty people experienced the calming, relaxing, supporting energy of reiki. Sylvia M DeSantis, M.A. Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master-Teacher from Seven Sacred Breaths Integrative Healing provided an all day work shop sponsored by the Central PA HCQU in Bellefonte Pa. Ms. DeSantis reviewed the basic concepts of reiki self healing, easy to do shiatsu holds and effective reflexology point. Participants were able to practice in their chairs; safe, simple, take home techniques for addressing common complaints such as insomnia, upset stomach, and anxiety. This interactive day of training discussed the non-invasive “laying on hands” healing practice safely used for any medical treatment or drug prescribed by a physician.
