Denise Prince, MBA, MPH, Chief Executive Officer, Founder & Managing Partner, Geisinger Ventures
Denise Prince has been employed by Geisinger Health System in various leadership capacities since 1989. Since its launch in 2003, she has led Geisinger Health System’s venture and intellectual asset commercialization group. Geisinger Ventures seeks innovative ideas to improve healthcare delivery, licenses and brings to market intellectual property, develops business plans, launches new businesses, and builds industry partnerships. Portfolio companies include ISS, a clinical engineering and IT services company; MedMining, specializing in information services; CareWorks Convenient Healthcare; and Proven Diagnostics, a full-service clinical diagnostic laboratory. From 1991–2003, Ms. Prince provided leadership to the Diversified Services Division where she was responsible for numerous start-ups including home health and hospice services, sleep labs, and various pharmacy- and therapy-related services. She received her BA cum laude from Mount Holyoke College, and her MBA and MPH degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Ms. Prince is a member of numerous professional associations and actively participates in several economic development organizations.
Steven Tracy, RPh, Sr. Director of Specialty and Infusion Pharmacy Operations, Geisinger Community Health Services
Steven Tracy, RPh, oversees all aspects of the specialty pharmacy and infusion pharmacy operations for Geisinger Community Health Services. The two pharmacies combined produce in excess of 30 million dollars of revenue for the system. Before Mr. Tracy took on his current role, he was in charge of the corporate working capital for SureHealth LLC, a Geisinger-owned company which operated retail pharmacy outlets. With 26 years of managerial pharmacy experience, Steven fully understands the industry. Prior to joining SureHealth in 2005, Steven managed retail pharmacies, from small independents to large big-box operations. During this time, he honed his skills in customer service and inventory management which later became the building blocks for his current role. Mr. Tracy graduated from Temple University School of Pharmacy, Philadelphia, PA, in 1985. Graduating with honors, he was a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society. Steven served as an advisory board member for Armada Healthcare and Ortho Biotech and is a member of NACDS.
Ronald T. Zsido, RPh, Director of Clinical Operations
Ronald Zsido, RPh, has been the Director Clinical Operations of VITALine since August 2009. He was previously the Pharmacy Manager. He is currently responsible for managing clinical operations in all sites including pharmacy, nursing and shipping/delivery functions. He ensures all lines of business operate cost-effectively and efficiently within appropriate compliance standards and other established rules and regulations governing the healthcare industry, including CHAP accreditation.
Mr. Zsido holds a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. He is a Registered Pharmacist in the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware. He is also a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association and the National Home Infusion Association.
Stephen C. Adams, MS, RPh, BCNSP, Clinical Coordinator, Pharmacy
Stephen Adams is currently Clinical Coordinator for Pharmacy Operations for VITALine Infusion Pharmacy Services. In addition to overseeing clinical operations, Mr. Adams’ primary areas of practice are management of home parenteral and enteral nutrition patients and anemia management of patients with chronic kidney disease. With 30 years of infusion pharmacy and clinical nutrition experience, Mr. Adams has been responsible for the development and implementation of a number of innovative programs, including the VITALine Infusion Pharmacy Services which he initiated in 1988, and the Anemia Management Program, initiated in 2007. Prior to his work at VITALine, he was an IV infusion pharmacist at Geisinger Medical Center from 1979 to 1988.
Mr. Adams is a registered pharmacist with degrees in Biology (BA, 1975) and Pharmacy (BS, 1979) from Temple University and a Masters in Nutrition (1992) from the Pennsylvania State University. He is one of only nine pharmacists in Pennyslvania to hold board certification in Nutrition Support Pharmacy from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. He is a member of the American Society of Healthsystem Pharmacists (ASHP), the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.) and CPASPEN, the Central Pennsylvania chapter of A.S.P.E.N. He is chair of the Home and Alternate Site Care Section of A.S.P.E.N., previously served as Liaison for Advocacy for the A.S.P.E.N Pharmacy Practice Section and served as President of CPASPEN. In 1991, he was awarded the A.S.P.E.N. Pharmacist Discipline Research Award. His graduate research project, “Changes in plasma and erythrocyte fatty acids in patients fed enteral formulas containing different fats,” was published in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition in 1993. Mr. Adams has delivered presentations at national meetings of ASHP and A.S.P.E.N., as well as local meetings of CPASPEN and FSPEN, the Florida Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
Carolyn Herman, RN, Nurse Manager
Carolyn Herman, RN, has more than 30 years experience in the Geisinger System, including in the ICU, OB/GYN, cardiac and nursing education. She is currently responsible for all of the nursing functions at VITALine. This includes, but is not limited to, intake, patient education and training, case management, on call and troubleshooting. Ms. Herman currently has a staff of 16 nurses which report directly to her. Before joining VITALine in 2004 as a Nurse Liason, she had a career which touched many areas of healthcare. In addition, Ms. Herman worked as a school nurse and held nurisng positions at other hospitals. Ms. Herman is a graduate of the 1970 class of the School of Nursing at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
