Diagnostic Dermatology 

Geisinger dermatologists work with allergy specialists to perform patch testing for allergic skin reactions. Other skin tests are:

• Magnification/visualization
• Hair and nail sampling (for systemic fungal infections)
• Mole and skin biopsies

Our dermatologists are experts in identifying ulcerous veins and diabetic foot ulcers where the skin does not heal. Dermatologic treatment is part of a complete wound care program at Geisinger.

Geisinger conducts free skin cancer screenings every May during Skin Cancer Awareness month. Screenings are held at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville; Geisinger Northeast and locations in the community. Screenings are held at several locations throughout northeast and central Pennsylvania.
