Level I Trauma Center

You can’t plan for emergencies. But the medical staff at Geisinger Medical Center is prepared every hour of every day. Our emergency room is a Level I Trauma Center, with experienced emergency medicine surgeons and specialists. We stand by 24 hours every day, ready to care for people with unexpected illness and injury.

Specialized Emergency Care

Our medical staff is dedicated to continuously providing the safest, highest quality services. As a result of our integrated and comprehensive treatment programs, Geisinger Medical Center has been named an Accredited Chest Pain Center, a designated Level 1 Heart Attack Program and a Certified Stroke Center.

Expert care for children

Our trauma specialists are specifically trained to care for children. In addition to specialists in the emergency room, specialists and subspecialists in a number of areas care for children in our neonatal intensive care unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Both are part of the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, which adjoins Geisinger Medical Center.

Fast Track, for less serious conditions

Geisinger offers Fast Track services so you and your family can get prompt treatment for sprains, strains, and other medical problems, and then quickly return to the comfort of your home
