Our ophthalmology specialists are fellowship-trained in the use of sophisticated diagnostic, laser and surgical approaches to treating problems of the vitreous and retina.
The vitreous is the clear gelatinous substance that fills the eye between the retina and the lens, essentially helping to hold the retinal membrane in place. Conditions like detached retinas, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy are serious problems that must be repaired and monitored to help prevent vision loss or blindness.
Geisinger is using the new laser surgery called PASCAL (Patterned Scanning Laser) that offers faster and nearly pain-free treatments to help restore sharp vision.
