Geisinger offers Women's Colonoscopy Clinics
Geisinger's Women's Colonoscopy Clinics provide comfort, privacy and personalized care from a team of women. Your physician, anesthetist, nurse and technician will all be women.
According to the American Cancer Society, a colonoscopy is the best way to detect colon cancer. Nearly all colon cancers begin as small, non-cancerous polyps that grow slowly, taking several years to develop. A colonoscopy can help detect these polyps so they can be removed early, before they grow into life-threatening cancer.
All women over 50, or with a family history of colon cancer, should have a colonoscopy every 10 years or as directed by your physician.
