For Schoolwork:
Play Keep Up, Not Catch Up!
A long hospital stay can mean missing many days of school. When your child is ready to return to the classroom, we don’t want him or her to have to play “catch up.” Our Hospital School Program helps with the transition back to school.
As part of this program, we work with the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit to provide certified teachers to our patients at Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville. Supported by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, it’s designed for public school children who:
- stay in the hospital for five or more school days
- or have frequent hospital stays
By getting this tutoring an hour each day, children can better keep up with their class work and get back to normal activities as quickly as possible.
