Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Danville
Our physicians, nurses and other members of our clinical staff are specialists in caring for children and teens who are seriously ill or injured. Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is designed to meet the serious, sometimes complex needs of your child.

You are an important part of your child’s medical care team, so please ask questions at any time. Together, we will see your child through this difficult time.

We encourage you to visit

As a parent or caregiver, seeing your child as often as possible is very important—both for your child and for you. We strongly encourage you to visit.

Siblings, plus anyone who is ill or has been ill recently should check with our nursing staff before coming for visiting hours.  Except for siblings, visitors must be at least 16 years old.

Our Family Lounge, located just outside the unit, is available for you to visit with family and friends. Cots, blankets and pillows are available for your use.
