Standby requests
Standby allows you to alert the Life Flight crew so we can respond immediately. Standby allows the pilot to locate the incident and obtain navigation coordinates and the crew to assemble at and ready the helicopter for flight. You will also know ahead of time if Life Flight is unavailable or what aircraft will be responding to your location. Standby requests can be made by authorized personnel such as industrial safety officers, police, ambulance, communication centers, or fire personnel.

The following information is needed to put Life Flight on standby:

  • Name of communication center or pre-hospital unit
  • Incident location
  • Nature of incident
  • If Life Flight is not available, the communication center will notify the next closest air medical service to assist you.

If, after placing Life Flight on standby, you do not need us, call the Life Flight communication center and cancel the standby alert.
