Geisinger neurologists provide inpatient and outpatient services for pediatric and adult patients with all types of neurological disorders. Geisinger has extensive diagnostic services and subspecialty physicians who are ready to help you care for your most complex cases.

Our neurologists provide clinical consultations and services throughout central and northeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to the pages linked at right, our services include:

Stroke

Geisinger neurological specialists in neurovascular disease provide rapid diagnosis and streamlined treatment options leading to intervention and aggressive rehabilitation. Geisinger has been named one of the Top 100 Hospitals for Stroke Care by the HCIA-Sachs Institute.

Sleep Disorders

 Sleep studies and polysomnography are available for diagnosis and treatment of insomnia, sleep apnea and narcolepsy.

Pediatric Neurology

Pediatric neurology provides in-depth diagnosis and comprehensive care to children from neonates to adolescents. Pediatric neurology is an integral part of the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center. In addition, our pediatric neurologists see patients at sites throughout Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Neuropsychology

The Institute’s full-time neuropsychologist is available for consultations and assessments for a variety of cases, including trauma, geriatric and pediatric evaluations. We can evaluate the most subtle or complex neurocognitive disorders and recommend a course of therapy.

Neuroradiology

State-of-the-art equipment provides a full range of diagnostic techniques to evaluate disorders of the brain, spinal cord and back. Diagnostics include high-resolution angiography, CT, MRI and emission tomography, PET imaging, and specialized modalities for selected patients.

Neurophysiology & Neurodiagnostics

The lab provides diagnostic services, including electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies and testing of the visual evoked responses (VER), somatosensory evoked responses (SER), and brain stem auditory evoked responses (BAER). Video- EEG monitoring is available on an inpatient basis. Outpatient ambulatory EEG is also available.

Rehabilitation

The Geisinger Neurosciences Institute provides a continuum of care from diagnosis and treatment through rehabilitation in coordination with the physiatrists and therapists at the Geisinger HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center in Danville. Outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation services are also available on the campus of Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre.
