The Lactation Support Team at Geisinger consists of six specially trained lactation nurses with combined experience of more than 30 years. Through continuous research-based education, they strive to empower mothers to have a healthy, rewarding breastfeeding experience.

Babies in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) also receive special attention with learning how to initiate and improve their natural breastfeeding instincts. Mothers of NICU babies are supported in creating a milk supply and taught techniques for maintaining their milk supply when using a breast pump.

The lactation support team is proud to be a part of creating the ultimate bond that a breastfeeding mother and baby experience, empowering  mothers with continued breastfeeding support throughout the entire breastfeeding experience.
