The Start to “The Change”

Perimenopause is the transition your body makes in midlife. Even though your body transitions gradually, the symptoms can feel anything but gradual as your body prepares to stop menstruating and producing female hormones.

Often called the “change of life,” perimenopause can take several years. So it’s good to know what to expect emotionally and physically. Geisinger’s Women’s Health Professionals are available to help you recognize the symptoms and learn about menopause-related connections to heart disease and osteoporosis.
