Victor J. Marks, M.D, is a native of Danville, Pennsylvania. He graduated cum laude from Bucknell University with a degree in biology and from Penn State University College of Medicine where he earned the Lange Award for academic excellence. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic where he earned the Graduate Travel Award for Excellence; Dermatology at University of North Carolina where he was chief resident; and Mohs Surgery at University of Tennessee where he was voted Teacher of the Year.
Dr. Marks is past president of the Pennsylvania Academy of Dermatology. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Noah Worcester Dermatologic Society, the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology.
In 2000, Dr. Marks served as Interim President and CEO of the Geisinger Health System. The Victor J. Marks, M.D. Award for Service Excellence was created by the Geisinger Board of Directors to honor the clinician who scores highest in patient satisfaction. He led the Geisinger Health System Service Excellence Initiative from 1995-2001. Dr. Marks has trained 22 fellows in Mohs Micrographic Surgery. Currently, he is Director of the Department of Dermatology of the Geisinger Health System.
