Emily Palen, LGC

I am a board certified and licensed genetic counselor with a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from Boston University’s School of Medicine. I started my position as a Genetic Counselor and Research Coordinator at Geisinger’s Autism and Developmental Medicine Institute (ADMI) in June of 2016. I practice genetic counseling in the general ADMI clinic and coordinate the 22q Developmental Specialty Clinic. In the research domain, I am involved in several different projects. I coordinate the Genome 2 Brain Network, an international consortium of researchers interested in better understanding the genetic etiologies of developmental brain dysfunction and standardizing phenotyping measures.  I also curate genetic testing reports and respond to participant inquiries for GenomeConnect, the ClinGen registry for individuals/families who have undergone genetic testing. Lastly, I return results related to developmental brain dysfunction for the MyCode project.
