Lindsay Bailey, MS, LGC
What I love most about my position is the opportunity for growth. For me, I knew I wanted to be a prenatal genetic counselor. So when I was searching for opportunities before graduation, my main criterion was for a prenatal genetic counselor (GC) opportunity. When I learned about the opportunities at Geisinger, I was intrigued by the concept of a clinic position that also had opportunities for research. As a new grad, honing my clinic skills and developing my counseling style were the most important tasks. As a prenatal GC at Geisinger, I am able to do just that, while still staying in touch with the broad genetics/genomics community because there are various types of genetic counselors and professionals here to learn from. The mixture has helped me grow and discover what I desire in a long-term career.
