Becoming a junior volunteer is an excellent learning and social experience for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17. Volunteerism can broaden a young person’s outlook, interests and sense of responsibility. This program provides a way for mature Teens to experience the satisfaction of helping others in a working environment, while gaining skills and knowledge needed for future life endeavors.

Summer junior volunteer program
A 6-8 week, annual, structured service program available to youth ages 14-17, this program requires an application and references. The admission process is competitive and differs from campus to campus. To apply, complete and submit the online application below. Two references are also required to be completed and submitted via surface mail for each junior volunteer applicant. Click for reference forms.

AIM HI (formerly called Mini-Med School)
This is a one-day, interactive, hands-on educational experience geared toward educating local students about healthcare professions including medical and non-medical focus areas. Participation and registration for this program is done through the student’s local public school and registration spots are limited depending on the size of the program at each Geisinger campus.
This program will be offered at a Geisinger campus in each region annually.
- Northeast: Scranton and Wilkes-Barre
- Central: Danville, Bloomsburg and Shamokin
- Southwest: Lewistown and Camp Hill
All junior volunteer programs may differ slightly depending on the campus at which you participate. Inquire at the Geisinger location near you for more information on any of the programs listed above. Junior volunteers must also complete a health screening that includes testing for drug and nicotine use to be eligible for participation.
