Kevin Brennan, CPA, is executive vice president of finance, chief financial officer of Geisinger and treasurer of the Foundation. As chief financial officer, he is responsible for all of the system financial operations and directs key functions including: treasury management, revenue cycle, financial reporting, budgeting, third party contracting, compliance, payroll, accounts payable, tax, decision support, mergers and acquisitions and financial systems, including workforce management.
From 1991 through 1995, Mr. Brennan served as the regional vice president, finance and vice president, managed care with the Franciscan Health System with responsibilities covering eight hospitals and affiliates in the mid-Atlantic region. From 1981 through 1991, Mr. Brennan served in chief financial officer roles at teaching hospitals, primarily in multi-entity systems within the mid-Atlantic region.
Mr. Brennan holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, both from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He has been a certified public accountant since 1979 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He is a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) since 1992 and also serves on the National Board of Directors of HFMA.
