DANVILLE, PA -- Geisinger’s Sports Medicine Department will host its second annual athletic training camp for high school students and incoming college freshmen interested in learning about the profession of athletic training. The camp will be held at Geisinger Outpatient Surgery Center–Woodbine Lane in Danville, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 17.

Students will discover the world of athletic training with lecture and laboratory based activities, gain a better understanding of the profession and be able to perform basic skills. Topics to be covered include:

  • Basic Anatomy
  • Prevention and Care
  • Emergency Care
  • Taping
  • Rehabilitation

The cost of the camp is $100 and includes lunch, materials, a gift and a t-shirt. Participants are asked to wear comfortable shoes, shorts and a t-shirt to accommodate hands-on activities.
