Annual Geisinger Transplant Program Picnic held at Knoebels Amusement Resort

ELYSBURG, PA — Nearly 500 patients, families and medical specialists who have participated in organ donation or organ transplant at Geisinger Health System during the program’s 34-year history recently attended the annual Geisinger Transplant Program Picnic on Friday, June 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Knoebels Amusement Resort, Elysburg.

The event included educational presentations, prize giveaways, and opportunities to meet others who have benefited from organ donation and transplantation at Geisinger. Geisinger’s organ transplantation specialists perform organ transplants at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, and they offer consultations and other services at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre and Geisinger–Scenery Park in State College.
