Cardiovascular team wins Success Story Award; Cosmetic surgery wins Guardian of Excellence Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

DANVILLE, PA -- Geisinger Health System was named both a 2015 Success Story Award® winner, and a 2015 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc., a leading provider of patient experience measurement for health care organizations. Patient experience represents the sum of all interactions, shaped by an organization’s culture, which influences patient perceptions about their care.

The Success Story Award recognizes health care organizations with compelling stories of innovation and leadership that have measurably improved patient experience, clinical quality or caregiver engagement. Geisinger is one of only 15 organizations to receive the award in 2015, earning it efforts by cardiovascular care providers to improve upon their patient satisfaction ratings.

Randy Hutchison, director of patient experience at Geisinger, worked closely with cardiology care providers on their initiative, titled “Improving Individual Physician Patient Satisfaction Scores – Actions Lead Louder Than Words.” He accepted the award on their behalf on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the 2015 Press Ganey National Client Conference in Orlando, Fla.

The Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery is a recipient of the Guardian of Excellence Award in the Medical Practice category. It annually recognizes health care organizations that have consistently achieved the 95th percentile or above of performance in patient experience among Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during one year.

“While we appreciate this recognition, our sole purpose is to make sure that every patient is treated with compassion, dignity and respect while receiving optimum care from a Geisinger provider,” said Geisinger President and CEO Dr. David Feinberg. “We need to achieve the best patient experience for every patient every time.”
