Geisinger becomes the first member of Risant Health

DALLAS, PA -- Originally from Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Matthew Joseph, D.O., recently returned to the area to join Geisinger-Dallas, 114 Lt. Michael Cleary Drive, as a family medicine physician. Dr. Joseph is trained to care for patients of all ages and holds special interests in autism and developmental disorders, sports medicine and women’s health.

Dr. Joseph graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre in 2002, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Scranton in 2006.

Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Joseph earned both a medical degree and a master’s of science degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012. He completed a family medicine residency with St. Joseph’s Family Medicine Residency Program, Reading, in 2015. He was chief resident of the residency program in his final year and often served as the team physician during local high school football games.

Also during his residency, Dr. Joseph volunteered in several capacities, including providing autism screenings at the Berks County Intermediate Unit and caring for migrant farm workers.

Dr. Joseph is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
