Geisinger To Host Sunbury’s First Ever Hot Air Balloon Festival
Proceeds to benefit Comprehensive Breast Care Program
SUNBURY, Pa. – Geisinger will host its inaugural Dream Big Hot Air Balloon Festival on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Spyglass Ridge Winery, Sunbury. This is the first time a hot air balloon festival will be held in Sunbury.
Eleven professional balloonists will fill the skies with their vibrant vessels during the family-friendly event. Scheduled activities include a liftoff pancake breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. ($10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under), balloon rides (tethered and untethered), live bands, food trucks, children's activities and professional and amateur photo competitions. Gates open at 6.30 a.m. and admission is free. Parking at the venue is $5.
Hot air balloon rides, weather permitting, will begin around 7:15 a.m. Advance reservations for balloon rides are required and can be made online at geisinger.org/FoundationEvents.
Proceeds will benefit Geisinger’s Comprehensive Breast Care Program, which treats all areas of breast health with a focus on the early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
