CAMP HILL, Pa. – Geisinger Holy Spirit and Weis Markets will show customers how to “shop the perimeter” to make healthy food choices during a free community event.

“Shop the Perimeter: A Simple Habit for Good Health” will be held at Weis Markets, 4525 Valley St., Enola, Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The perimeter of a grocery store is where customers can find fresh, whole-food essentials like produce, meat, dairy and eggs, while avoiding highly processed and packaged foods. Geisinger Holy Spirit has partnered with Weis Markets to offer store tours with Weis dietitian Erin Long. Long will take registrants around the grocery store and offer tips for reading labels and making healthy shopping lists that will keep you out of the “danger zone.”

Tours are limited to 12 people. The event is free to attend, but registration is required. To register, visit events.geisinger.org, email HSGACommEdWeb@geisinger.edu, or call 717-972-4149. Registrants should meet in the Daily Fare Café in the front of the store.
